Students engage with leading scholars to examine the rich traditions of Celtic-speaking communities while mastering one of the region's Celtic languages.
The University maintains vibrant exchange programs with Trinity College Dublin and institutions in North America and Australia that specialize in Celtic studies. Alumni have pursued diverse career paths in education, cultural heritage, publishing, music, and business ventures, while others have advanced to academic research and postgraduate studies.
Students who completed Celtic Civilisation coursework in their initial years can opt to study Scottish Gaelic or combine medieval Celtic history with ancient Celtic languages. The curriculum includes specialized courses covering various cultural and literary themes, from early Irish and Scottish Gaelic traditions to Welsh literature, Celtic art, and modern language policy. Honors students explore deeper historical topics like medieval Ireland, the Northern Britons, and Pictish civilization, culminating in an independent research dissertation on a subject of personal interest.
