Exploring Celtic Civilisation delves into the rich heritage of the Celts, tracing the evolution of their communities, literary traditions, artifacts, artistic expressions, and spiritual beliefs from ancient Europe to contemporary Britain and Ireland. As part of a combined degree program, you'll examine both medieval and modern Celtic cultures alongside leading researchers, without needing to study a Celtic language. The University maintains vibrant exchange programs with Trinity College Dublin and institutions in North America and Australia that specialize in Celtic studies. Alumni have pursued diverse career paths such as education at various levels, museum curation, heritage conservation roles in government agencies, as well as publishing and literary promotion. Some graduates have continued their academic journey through advanced studies, establishing themselves in research and university teaching positions.

Advanced entry
Applicants who achieve exceptional grades in their Advanced Highers, A-levels or International Baccalaureate may be considered for Advanced Entry, meaning that an Honours degree can be completed in three years instead of the normal four years, or four years for five-year integrated Masters programmes.
