Glasgow's LLB (Common Law) stands out for its adaptability, focus on building employer-valued competencies, and chances for international study and work placements. This makes the degree an excellent springboard for various professions, including government roles, journalism, business sectors, international organizations, finance, social services, and law enforcement. For aspiring lawyers in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland, the LLB (Common Law) delivers essential academic legal training.
Aspiring barristers in England and Wales will find that the LLB (Common Law) meets the Bar Standards Board's academic requirements. Graduates must then complete a postgraduate Bar course for vocational training, followed by a one-year pupillage to qualify. The degree also satisfies qualification standards for Northern Ireland's legal practice (through the Bar course at Belfast's Institute of Professional Legal Studies).
