Pharmacology explores the science of drugs, including not only medications but also naturally occurring substances like hormones. This field also investigates food additives, agricultural chemicals such as pesticides, and even animal poisons and toxic compounds. Students might secure internships with leading pharmaceutical firms like AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, and Pfizer.
Our adaptable Life Sciences programs encourage students to translate classroom theory into real-world applications, whether in laboratories or fieldwork settings. We provide an extensive selection of courses covering human and animal biology, biomolecular sciences, and infection and immunity studies. Our goal is to deliver world-class degrees that prepare science graduates for modern challenges. By leveraging the expertise of the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences, we equip graduates with essential skills for diverse career paths. Our vibrant student community includes learners from Scotland, the UK, Europe, and worldwide, along with exchange students who enrich our academic environment with global perspectives.
Alumni often pursue careers in academia or pharmaceutical sectors, with many continuing their education through MSc and PhD programs before entering professional roles.
