This chemistry degree offers comprehensive training across core chemical disciplines while specializing in medicinal chemistry and pharmacology, particularly focusing on research involving biologically active compounds.
The University of Glasgow's chemistry program consistently surpasses student expectations, delivering outstanding teaching within a supportive academic setting. Students gain unique insights through an industrial medicinal chemistry lecture series featuring pharmaceutical researchers, covering drug-receptor dynamics and the development, synthesis, delivery, and metabolism of significant medications. The program holds professional accreditation from the Royal Society of Chemistry. An MSci option includes a valuable work placement year (either domestic or international) between the third and final years.

Our alumni pursue careers in pharmaceutical research, forensic science, and related fields, with many continuing to postgraduate studies or entering the chemical industry directly.
