Our Solar Energy research team is dedicated to creating cost-effective solar technologies and related devices. We develop innovative approaches to address energy issues, paving the way for a greener tomorrow. Core research areas encompass advanced solar conversion and storage systems, concentrated photovoltaics, renewable solar fuels, next-generation solar cells, and associated technologies. Comprised of prominent and up-and-coming researchers, the group conducts cutting-edge interdisciplinary studies on environmental and sustainability challenges in collaboration with domestic and global partners.

To be considered, PhD applicants need to meet the following entry requirements:
A good undergraduate degree (in the UK, at least an upper second class honours) in a relevant subject
A taught Masters degree in a relevant subject
IELTS, IELTS Online and IELTS Indicator (International English Language Testing System academic version) - 6.0 overall and no less than 6.0 in any section
TOEFL iBT and TOEFL iBT Home Edition and TOEFL iBT Paper Edition - Overall score 87 with minimum scores of 21 for writing, listening, reading and speaking. MyBest scores are not accepted
