As a PhD candidate in Mining and Minerals at Camborne School of Mines, you'll spearhead research initiatives with substantial influence on both your specialized area and broader societal concerns. Our research spans diverse subjects such as geotechnical and mining engineering, occupational safety, mineral processing optimization, land surveying, and examining mining's societal and environmental consequences. Our interdisciplinary team tackles numerous applications, ranging from rock mechanics and innovative excavation methods to numerical simulations, automated mining systems, electronic monitoring, mine design, hazard mitigation, incident analysis, and employing remote sensing with visualization tools to assess intricate engineering issues. You should have at least a 2:1 Honours degree in engineering or science or have an appropriate MSc qualification. IELTS, IELTS Online and IELTS Indicator (International English Language Testing System – academic version) Overall score 7.0 with a minimum score of 6.5 in the writing component and all other sections no less than 6.0 TOEFL iBT and TOEFL iBT Home Edition and TOEFL iBT Paper Edition 100 with minimum scores of 25 for writing, and no less than 21 for listening,reading and speaking.
