Our expertise spans from the early Middle Ages to the late twentieth century, with specializations in British and European history, alongside significant focus on American, African, and Indian historical studies.
The History department operates across two locations: our Penryn Campus in Cornwall specializes in public history and environmental studies, while the Streatham Campus in Exeter focuses on medieval studies, early modern socio-economic history, maritime history, modern British politics, global history, and medical history.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration and research center partnerships, our historians expand their research impact via teamwork, scholarly evaluation, and academic publishing.

Our postgraduate alumni pursue successful careers both in academia and beyond.
