Physiotherapy is an evidence-based healthcare field focused on enhancing, implementing, assessing, and refining the scientific foundations of its practice. Practitioners take a holistic approach to optimize patients' functional abilities and mobility. Beyond assisting individuals in maintaining independence post-injury or illness, physiotherapists promote wellness across all age groups, preventing disease and alleviating discomfort.
These healthcare professionals operate in challenging settings, and at Essex, we train graduates to apply analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities, supported by comprehensive physiotherapy expertise and clinical competencies. To excel, you'll need self-motivated learning practices that foster ongoing professional growth and career-long competency.
Graduating from our MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) program qualifies you to seek registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), enabling UK practice, and to obtain full membership in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
Additionally, we collaborate with the University's Student Development Team to connect you with valuable practical experiences, including internships, clinical placements, and volunteer positions.
