Our criminology programs are based in the Department of Sociology, where we provide comprehensive supervision across diverse subject areas with an international perspective. Students benefit from specialized knowledge of various regional contexts. Each research student is assigned a supervisor to guide them through their degree, with some receiving joint supervision from multiple faculty members or cross-departmental collaboration when beneficial.
The department houses the Centre for Criminology alongside three other research hubs: CRESI (Economic Sociology and Innovation), the Migration Research Centre, and CISC (Intimate and Sexual Citizenship). The criminology center organizes regular seminars independently and in partnership with institutions like the Human Rights Centre, while also coordinating conferences at local, regional, and national levels.
Graduates frequently pursue academic careers worldwide or secure positions in NGOs, government agencies, policy think tanks, media production, market research, and charitable organizations.
With outstanding social sciences faculty, students have access to world-class scholars and interdisciplinary opportunities that enrich their studies through multiple academic viewpoints.
