Our Public Health PhD program provides a distinctive chance to conduct research across diverse healthcare environments, including schools, hospitals, and community organizations.
You'll have the chance to enroll in our Master's-level research methodology courses, building essential expertise for your studies. The University's Proficio training program further enables you to select workshops tailored to your research focus and methods.
This doctoral program offers flexible study options: a 3-year full-time track or a 6-year part-time pathway, with an additional year available for thesis completion.
The School of Health and Social Care maintains a strong partnership with our Service User Reference Group (SURG), comprising patients, caregivers, and volunteers who contribute valuable perspectives on healthcare experiences. We collaborate with SURG to shape our curriculum, ensuring patient-centered care remains central to our programs. SURG members participate in admissions processes, often joining interview panels to help identify ideal candidates. They also contribute to teaching and research initiatives, offering students firsthand insights into living with health conditions. This exposure not only enhances clinical understanding but also fosters greater empathy, compassion, and advocacy skills.
