Our BSc in Sports and Exercise Psychology focuses on one of psychology's most rapidly growing fields. This program offers an engaging, hands-on exploration of mental processes and their practical uses in sports and exercise science.
The curriculum is jointly delivered by our School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences (SRES) and the Psychology Department, giving you access to both academic communities. This dual approach combines research expertise, fosters knowledge exchange, and expands your learning possibilities. You'll study in our cutting-edge Sport Arena, equipped with specialized research labs and top-tier facilities.

With the sports, fitness, health, and leisure industries experiencing rapid growth, graduates can pursue diverse career paths in sports psychology.

Qualification Requirements

GCSE: Mathematics C/4 A-levels: BBB - BBC or 120 – 112 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 2 full A-levels and a minimum grade C in a science subject or Mathematics. PE and Psychology are acceptable as science A-levels BTEC: DDM – DMM or 120 – 112 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of the equivalent of 2 full A-levels. Other qualifications that hold UCAS tariff points, and combined qualifications: 120 – 112 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 2 full A levels or equivalent including B in one science subject or Mathematics. IB: 30 - 29 points or three Higher Level certificates with 555-554 including Higher Level Science or Mathematics grade 5, or (if not taking HL Maths) Standard Level Mathematics grade 4. We will accept either IB Maths syllabus at Standard Level or Higher Level. Standard Level Maths in the IB is not required if you have already achieved GCSE Maths at grade C/4 or above or 4 in IB Middle Years Maths. We are also happy to consider a combination of separate IB Diploma Programme Courses (formerly certificates) at both Higher and Standard Level. Exact offer levels will vary depending on the range of subjects being taken at higher and standard level, and the course applied for. IELTS- 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component TOEFL IBT- 76 overall, with a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing
