Our BA Psychology (including foundation year) is ideal if you don't currently meet the entry requirements for the standard three-year program and need a course that builds both subject knowledge and academic skills to enhance your performance.

This four-year program begins with a foundation year (Year Zero), followed by three years of specialized study. During Year Zero, you'll explore three subjects related to your chosen degree alongside a core academic skills module, with optional English language support for international students.

Upon successfully completing Year Zero through our Essex Pathways Department, you'll advance to the Department of Psychology to finish your degree.

If you're curious about human behavior and our role in society, Essex's psychology program offers one of the UK's most engaging explorations of the human mind. We tackle fundamental questions, guiding you through an investigation of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Feed your intellectual curiosity by learning from pioneering researchers at the forefront of psychological science. Essex adopts an interdisciplinary approach, breaking conventional boundaries to integrate diverse expertise, innovative methods, and compelling theories.
