You gain comprehensive knowledge in modern history and international relations, examining how these interconnected disciplines shape each other. During your first year, you'll study introductory courses in international relations and politics alongside history modules, continuing to blend these subjects in your second and third years. With diverse options available across both departments, you can choose to focus your final-year dissertation on either politics or history. Your historical studies will explore the interplay of ideas, cultures, and economies across Western societies over the past two centuries, connecting contemporary concepts of political freedom, global connectivity, and social norms with their 18th and 19th century origins. This program particularly suits those curious about international systems, decision-making processes, and geopolitical boundaries. You'll build political knowledge while international relations studies enhance your research capabilities, analytical thinking, and global awareness.
