This interdisciplinary program allows you to examine America's global influence through political, historical, social, and cultural lenses. You'll integrate US-focused studies with elective courses in film studies from our Departments of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies, History, and School of Philosophy and Art History.
A key feature includes the opportunity to spend either a semester or full academic year studying in the US, providing immersive cultural experiences.
As an American Studies graduate, you'll develop comprehensive knowledge about American society while honing critical thinking and communication skills.

A-levels: ABB BTEC: DDD, depending on subject studied - advice on acceptability can be provided. IB: 32 points or three Higher Level certificates with 655. We are also happy to consider a combination of separate IB Diploma Programmes at both Higher and Standard Level. Exact offer levels will vary depending on the range of subjects being taken at higher and standard level, and the course applied for. Access to HE Diploma:15 Level 3 credits at Distinction and 30 level 3 credits at Merit, depending on subject studied - advice on acceptability can be provided.
