Our program provides a comprehensive exploration of worldwide trends in criminal justice policies and criminal activities. We examine crime through a societal lens, connecting it to matters of influence, resource distribution, rights, inequality, governance, and cultural factors. This perspective prompts us to investigate questions such as why specific demographics are more prone to criminal behavior, why certain offenders face higher arrest rates, how governments engage in 'state crime,' and society's paradoxical relationship with crime - both fearing and being captivated by it.
A unique feature is the option to spend a semester or full academic year studying in the United States, allowing you to experience and absorb American culture firsthand.

Students completing our BA in Criminology and American Studies develop valuable critical analysis abilities that appeal to employers across various sectors, including criminal justice.

Career paths in criminology are diverse. The program offers strong preparation for roles within the justice system and other fields. Our alumni have secured positions with prominent organizations such as: Institute of Public Finance
Guardian Professional, Home Office, Synergy Healthcare Research
