The Operational Research and Optimization research group focuses on three primary domains: mathematical and computational optimization, combinatorial optimization, and energy systems.
Our optimization work centers on solving large-scale sparse linear and quadratic problems, offering leading-edge proficiency in both the simplex method and interior point techniques. For combinatorial challenges, we specialize in formulating real-world scenarios through integer linear programming and developing precise, practical algorithms to address them.
Our energy specialization covers system planning optimization, supply security risk assessment, and policy decision support. Additional research interests encompass PDE-constrained optimization, global optimization techniques, decomposition approaches, parallel computing, industrial optimization applications, and stochastic optimization methods.
