Child Life and Health (CLAH) focuses on research in pediatric and adolescent medicine.
Our goal is to promote and provide world-class research and education on the origins, impacts, and treatment of childhood illnesses, while also enhancing the healthy growth of children and adolescents.
Key research areas include:
brain and acute trauma
neurological disabilities
cancer and long-term effects
digestive health and nutrition
growth and hormonal disorders
respiratory virus immunology
asthma and allergic conditions
surgical interventions
We partner with NHS researchers from institutions like the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, the Simpson Centre for Reproductive Health, Community Paediatrics, Lothian Primary Care Trust, and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Additionally, we collaborate with University of Edinburgh researchers based at the Queens Medical Research Institute, Chancellors Buildings, and the Centre for Genomics and Experimental Medicine.
