The program encompasses all aspects of science, engineering, mathematics, and technology communication.
The domains of science communication and public engagement are experiencing remarkable expansion. This growth stems from various contemporary societal factors, including:
the necessity for impactful public health and climate change communication
increasing demands to showcase publicly funded research outcomes
the requirement for research validation and evidence-based policymaking.
Numerous professional prospects are developing at the intersection of research and diverse stakeholder groups, with innovative engagement techniques being actively implemented. The MSc curriculum addresses communication and engagement across all scientific, engineering, mathematical, and technological disciplines, along with non-scientific fields.
Students will encounter multiple approaches to science communication and public engagement across different settings. Through this experience, they'll cultivate analytical abilities and reflective methodologies.
Knowledge acquired in one course can be applied to others, creating a cohesive learning experience throughout the program.
Important note: This MSc does NOT focus on communication science and excludes specialization in marketing, advertising, or corporate communications.
This one-year MSc program is structured across three semesters, culminating in either a research or practice-oriented project during the final term.
Instructional approaches combine seminar discussions with individual and collaborative activities, supplemented by practical sessions. Teaching methodologies mirror actual practices in science communication and public engagement.
