The Edinburgh Cancer Research UK Centre (ECRC) adopts an integrated strategy for cancer investigation, merging laboratory studies with clinical methodologies.
The center primarily examines the genetic and molecular foundations of cancer and disease mechanisms, while developing and evaluating novel treatments derived from fundamental, translational, and clinical research initiatives.
Our primary objective is to conduct exceptional research focused on improving cancer prevention, detection, and management, along with addressing cancer-related symptoms.
ECRC operates under the Edinburgh Medical School's Deanery of Molecular, Genetic and Population Health Sciences located at the Western General Hospital. In the latest Research Assessment Exercise, this clinical unit received the highest rating of 5.
