This program is designed for students seeking to enhance their knowledge of biblical studies, particularly those aiming to pursue doctoral research. It focuses on expanding and deepening proficiency in biblical languages.

Advanced language abilities form the core of the program's approach to studying the Bible, its historical context, and subsequent interpretations. The curriculum offers specialized study of the Hebrew Bible and New Testament, along with the ancient Near Eastern and Mediterranean cultures, plus related texts such as the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Instruction comes from distinguished scholars specializing in Hebrew Scripture, New Testament studies, ancient Judaism, and early Christian history.

Participants will gain from regular biblical studies research seminars and access to our Center for the Study of Christian Origins.

Qualification Requirements

A UK 2:1 honours degree, a minimum US 3.25 GPA, or its international equivalent, in theology/religious studies or a related field in which biblical studies features prominently.

IELTS - total 7.0 (at least 6.0 in each module)
TOEFL-iBT (including Special Home Edition) - total 100 (at least 20 in each module). We do not accept TOEFL MyBest Score to meet our English language requirements.
