Ethnology investigates the customs and heritage of established communities, occupying a unique space between history and anthropology. Though frequently taught in European institutions, this remains the UK's sole comprehensive undergraduate offering of its kind. Concentrating primarily on Scotland while incorporating international comparisons, you'll examine how a contemporary European nation manifests its culture through diverse expressions including traditions, worldviews, community structures, linguistics, and musical heritage.

The standard entry requirement is:
SQA Highers: AAAB-ABBB by end of S5 or AAAA-AABB/ABBBB by end of S6. BBB must be achieved in one year of S4-S6.
A Levels: ABB.
IB: 34 points with 655 at HL.
