German is the native language for over a third of Europeans and ranks among the world's top 20 most spoken languages. As an official working language for numerous international institutions, German serves as an ideal complementary subject to Business studies.
Throughout our four-year program, which includes a year overseas, you'll develop professional competencies in all German language areas, such as:
comprehension and auditory skills
composition and translation
oral communication and presentations
Beyond language acquisition, you'll delve into German literature, cinema, and drama, examining these within their historical and political contexts from the 18th century to modern day.
New students with no prior experience begin with our German 1A course, while those with significant previous language study typically enroll in German 1B.
By graduation, you'll have refined your linguistic, critical, and analytical abilities to the level required for completing a dissertation or extended research paper.
This program offers a broader alternative to the International Business with German degree. While covering both local and global business topics, you'll engage with German language and culture throughout all four years, with additional elective options available in your first two years.
During your third-year abroad, while business courses aren't mandatory, you'll conduct independent research on a current business topic relevant to your host country (typically Germany or Austria).
In your final year, alongside advanced German language and cultural studies, you'll select three specialized business courses from various available options.
