This career-focused design conversion program is ideal for individuals passionate about landscape architecture but holding an undergraduate degree in another field. Fully accredited by the Landscape Institute, our postgraduate diploma serves as a stepping stone to landscape industry roles. However, pursuing a Masters in Professional Landscape Architecture is necessary to achieve full UK Licentiate status and qualify for the Landscape Institute's Chartership Pathway. Alternatively, applicants may consider our integrated Masters in Professional Landscape Architecture (with Conversion), which provides direct progression to Licentiate status.
At UEL, our landscape architecture programs equip you with professional skills while addressing critical modern challenges—urban growth, migration, social equity, resource scarcity, climate action, and sustainable food systems.
We encourage you to rethink conventional notions of landscape and explore its transformative potential. Your learning will combine studio work, field visits, and interdisciplinary collaboration with practitioners and scholars, alongside hands-on projects addressing real community needs with actual clients.
UEL offers a vibrant creative environment that values your unique perspectives. Our diverse student body, coming from various academic backgrounds beyond just arts and design, fosters cross-disciplinary learning and skill-sharing. Personalized instruction ensures you develop professional-level competencies regardless of your starting expertise.
Growing environmental awareness and community health priorities have increased demand for landscape architects worldwide. The field boasts strong employment rates, with our graduates earning industry recognition, awards, and positions at leading UK and international firms. Many secure employment through our professional shadowing opportunities. Our school maintains extensive industry connections, providing collaborative experience on live projects alongside multidisciplinary teams.
All UEL postgraduate landscape programs hold full Landscape Institute accreditation.
