This primary teacher training program is tailored for graduates dedicated to pursuing a career in primary education. It prepares you to instruct children aged five to eleven years old. You may qualify for substantial tax-free training bursaries.
During your training, you'll master teaching the full primary curriculum while specializing in a chosen area. The STEM-focused Primary PGCE pathway equips you with advanced knowledge and leadership skills for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education.
While East London provides diverse, dynamic school environments for your training, your UEL qualification will enable you to teach throughout England and Wales.
Our PGCE faculty consists of seasoned educators with extensive experience across London's primary and Early Years sectors, including classroom teaching, curriculum development, advisory roles, and school leadership positions.
The program transforms you into a fully capable primary teacher. Upon completion, you'll be skilled at delivering the entire curriculum to a full classroom of 30 students with confidence.
Graduates emerge with exceptional subject knowledge, lesson planning expertise, and the ability to effectively track student progress.
The initial five weeks primarily take place in our specialized education facility, focusing on teaching methodologies and curriculum content.
You'll expand your subject knowledge and learn strategies to enhance student learning across all curriculum areas.
Through collaborations with regional schools and local authorities, we address local teacher shortages, with many graduates securing positions at partner institutions. Some trainees receive job offers directly from their placement schools. Educational authorities consistently rate our graduates highly, with OFSTED's 2012 report citing school feedback that our trainees enter classrooms fully prepared for teaching demands.
