The Law with Criminology program is an excellent choice for students interested in legal studies while exploring the underlying factors and impacts of criminal behavior. Each academic year includes two criminology modules alongside core law subjects, fulfilling all requirements set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board for this LLB qualification.
The curriculum explores legal frameworks, their creation and implementation, while examining their interaction with societal, political, and cultural environments. The criminology component provides foundational knowledge about criminal justice institutions, including law enforcement agencies, judicial processes, and correctional facilities.
While the law curriculum has mandatory components, third-year students can select from various elective modules to specialize in their preferred legal areas.
This combined degree equips graduates with sought-after skills valued by employers across multiple professional sectors.
Graduates often pursue successful legal careers, either becoming solicitors through the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and securing training contracts, or qualifying as barristers via the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) followed by pupillage. Career paths include self-employed barrister tenancies or employed barrister positions.
