Surveying focuses on accurately gathering spatial data - essential information for numerous construction projects, both on land and at sea. For major developments, surveyors are typically the first professionals on site to set up initial measurements and the last to verify final placements. The field offers excellent job prospects, and this program provides the training to tap into global career opportunities. Our strong industry connections include frequent guest lectures. You'll also tour significant developments in London, one of the globe's most active construction hubs. The curriculum balances theory and practice equally, featuring field projects like a first-year residential assignment alongside classroom and lab work.

This program also serves as an entry point into forensic surveying, which provides accurate measurements for legal proceedings. Potential work includes analyzing accident sites or documenting crime scenes after major incidents like bombings.
Your hydrographic surveying expertise will prepare you for international careers in offshore energy exploration. These same skills apply to specialized missions like locating aircraft lost at sea, such as the 2014 search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 in the Pacific Ocean.
