Architectural Design Technology is a multidisciplinary program combining architecture, structural engineering, construction technology, and project management. Our faculty of architects, technologists, and engineers will provide you with comprehensive training for a successful career in this expanding industry. You'll learn from leading professionals at globally recognized firms including Foster and Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, Make Architects, SOM, Rogers Stirk Harbour, ARUP, and Atkins.
The program offers full-time options (3 years standard or 4 years with placement) and part-time study (6 years). Since 2016/17, we've offered apprenticeship pathways where construction industry employers partner with the University to deliver part-time Construction Design Management training. Graduates qualify for Associate membership with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (ACIAT), with potential to advance to Chartered status (MCIAT) and establish independent practices after gaining professional experience.
An Architectural Design Technology degree prepares you to bridge the gap between architects and construction professionals. You'll utilize your specialized knowledge of building science to enhance architectural projects and construction processes. Your unique technical skills will enable you to oversee design implementation and develop creative solutions to complex challenges in the built environment.
