This program will help you expand your expertise in fundamental engineering disciplines while developing essential research and business competencies valued by professional organizations like IMechE, IET, iED (Institution of Engineering Designers), and CSD (Chartered Society of Designers). Combining technical engineering subjects with management-focused coursework, the curriculum addresses the growing industry need for engineers with leadership capabilities. Graduates will be equipped to assume key technical and project management roles. This distinctive program allows you to cultivate specialized abilities and knowledge to excel as an engineer, designer, or researcher in your chosen specialization. The BEng in Engineering helps students define their career path while obtaining relevant professional qualifications, with progression opportunities to MEng programs in Engineering Design, Engineering Management, or General Engineering.
You'll leverage UEL's strong industry connections with prominent engineering companies such as Ford Motor Company, Crossrail, and Canary Wharf Contractors, which provide site visits and internship opportunities for enrolled students.
The BEng/MEng Engineering curriculum emphasizes practical experience through industry-aligned projects, with an optional year-long placement available.
Our students frequently participate in prestigious undergraduate competitions including the IMechE Design Challenge, Formula Student, and Shell Eco-Marathon, gaining hands-on understanding of engineering constraints while strengthening collaborative skills.

Qualification Requirements

112 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification listed on the UCAS tariff calculator, including:
A Levels in at least two subjects including Mathematics and Physics minimum grade D
BTEC Extended Diploma DMM in a relevant subject. Must include distinctions in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics
BTEC Diploma DD in an Engineering relevant subject. Must include Merits in Mathematics , Further Mathematics and Physics/Engineering
Access to HE Diploma in a relevant subject
International Baccalaureate 24 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level and must include Mathematics and Physics at Higher Level
We also welcome applications from students who are taking Level 3 or higher qualifications not on the UCAS tariff calculator, and will assess the suitability, on a case by case basis.

In addition to one of the above, you should have:
GCSE English Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in English
GCSE Mathematics Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics
We accept a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications.

IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking, 5.5 in Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).
