Educating students aged 5-11, you'll have a crucial responsibility in inspiring children to stay involved and enthusiastic about their education, with particular attention to supporting those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Created through strong collaboration with primary schools across East Anglia, our Primary PGCE program prepares you to become a self-assured, skilled educator capable of engaging students and maintaining effective classroom management, while specializing in special educational needs.
After successfully finishing the PGCE, you'll earn Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) along with 90 credits at Master's level.
This intensive one-year program begins each September and concludes the following July. Most of your time will be spent in school placements - with at least 120 days (24 weeks) in primary placements plus additional days for practicing essential teaching techniques, alongside up to 60 days in instructional sessions. You'll gain experience in two different schools, providing valuable contrasting perspectives, with one placement specifically focused on SEND education.
