This MA program offers a cross-disciplinary perspective on international development, incorporating insights from political science, economics, anthropology, philosophy, sociology, geography, and environmental studies. You'll learn how historical perspectives are crucial for addressing contemporary development issues. The program teaches you to analyze international development challenges through the interconnected lenses of social, economic, political, and environmental factors.
You can customize your learning experience by selecting from a diverse range of modules both within and outside the School of International Development. The program offers flexibility in your final project, allowing you to choose between a dissertation or practical summer placement - providing multiple avenues to demonstrate your capabilities.
Beyond acquiring in-depth subject knowledge, you'll develop essential professional competencies for a rewarding career in development work or advanced academic research.
