In this program, you'll master your selected language to an undergraduate standard while delving into business management principles and applications, along with understanding how languages and translation shape modern global communication.
Your linguistic studies will encompass reading and listening exercises, bidirectional translation between English and your target language, précis and paraphrasing tasks, analysis of various styles and registers, vocabulary-building activities, and speaking practice. All coursework utilizes current materials rather than literary or historical texts. During your overseas year, you'll apply these concepts in real-world settings, elevating your language proficiency before selecting specialized advanced language courses in your final year.
You have the option to study an additional language either as part of your degree requirements or as an extracurricular certified module. Available choices may include Arabic, British Sign Language, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, or Advanced English, depending on course availability.
The overseas academic year is a mandatory component of our four-year language degree programs.
