This cutting-edge program merges a robust interdisciplinary base with specialized geographical perspectives on global development. You'll engage with core modules in human and social geography that examine pressing modern challenges through a geographical framework - encompassing poverty, inequality, racial issues, health disparities, migration patterns, and urban growth - with particular emphasis on human-environment interactions and social justice transformation. The curriculum includes practical training in crucial skills such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), qualitative and quantitative research methods, complemented by extensive fieldwork experience. Fieldwork forms an integral component of this degree, with local excursions incorporated into core modules where we collaborate with community organizations. The program also features multiple residential field trip opportunities across the UK.
