In this program, you'll examine the United States through literary, cultural, and historical lenses. By analyzing classic literature, pivotal historical moments, primary sources, films, comics, photographs, and artworks, you'll develop a deep understanding of the crucial events and discussions that have influenced America. You'll explore themes of race, gender, civil rights, and political systems while investigating how U.S. influence has extended globally. Additionally, you'll study diverse elements of American culture, from mainstream trends to experimental movements.

You may also choose to apply for a semester abroad during your second year, allowing you to experience the country you're studying firsthand.
