The School of Health Sciences is dedicated to improving lives through practical health research, fostering a dynamic academic environment both within our school and across the university.
Our research efforts are spearheaded by the Mother and Infant Research Unit, the People, Health and Communities initiative, and the Scottish Improvement Science Collaborating Centre (SISCC), which operates under our School's leadership. We encourage research proposals aligned with these growing focus areas, particularly in public health, rehabilitation, geriatric care, maternal and child wellness, health promotion, improvement methodologies, psychological well-being, and digital health innovations.
Our methodological strengths encompass comprehensive literature reviews, evidence integration, and advanced data analysis, alongside diverse health research approaches such as social and behavioral studies, human-computer interaction, and design thinking.
We maintain an established reputation for research excellence nationally, with particular strengths in midwifery and allied health fields. Our team also brings specialized knowledge in applied health sciences and education-related research.
We welcome inquiries about potential research collaborations with the School of Health Sciences.
