This discipline plays a vital role in advancing sustainability efforts. Throughout this program, you'll become a catalyst for transformation, mastering audience-focused communication strategies essential for motivating change and addressing societal and environmental challenges. Ideal candidates typically possess experience in illustration, graphic design, animation, or sequential art, or demonstrate enthusiasm for tackling complex issues through visual narratives. You'll develop research methodologies for project-based assignments addressing social, environmental, and political concerns. Contemporary challenges demand collaborative solutions - this curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary teamwork, combining diverse perspectives to create meaningful impact. The accelerated MDes program delivers 180 credits across three terms within one year. During the initial term, you'll establish a research framework to investigate topics of personal interest, translating findings into visual narratives. Concurrently, you'll enhance your existing design competencies. The second term deepens research capabilities through practical briefs while offering elective modules to broaden your professional network across Art & Design disciplines, fostering collaborative opportunities. Instructional methods include: client projects, regular tutorials, field studies, lectures, and hands-on workshops. As a studio-intensive program, it incorporates industry engagements and participation in prestigious competitions like the ISTD, D&AD, and RSA student awards.
