In this program, you'll have the opportunity to learn two languages (French, German, or Spanish) while exploring diverse historical subjects. Our curriculum covers social, cultural, and political history spanning from the early modern era to contemporary times, with particular focus on Britain, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and India.
We prioritize hands-on historical practice. From your first year, you'll work directly with primary sources, examining different forms of historical evidence such as documents, oral accounts, maps, visual materials, films, artworks, and musical pieces.
You'll explore how source materials and media representations influence our interpretations of history. The program encourages critical analysis of major historical debates, tracing their evolution and impact on our worldview. Additionally, you'll examine the historian's craft - how they construct historical narratives and their contemporary role in public discourse, media, and cultural preservation.
