This program allows you to learn two languages (French, German, or Spanish) while exploring diverse historical subjects. Our curriculum covers social, cultural, and political history from the early modern era to contemporary times, with special focus on Britain, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and India.
We prioritize hands-on historical practice. From your first year, you'll work with primary sources and examine different forms of historical evidence, including documents, oral accounts, maps, visual materials, films, artworks, and musical pieces.
You'll explore how source materials and media representations influence our interpretations of history. The course encourages critical analysis of major historical debates, their evolution, and their impact on our worldview. Additionally, you'll examine historians' methods of constructing narratives and assess their role in modern society, media, and cultural preservation.
