This program teaches effective communication techniques for working with children who have diverse and often complex healthcare requirements. The BSc (Hons) pathway includes completing an independent research project on a subject of your choice.
With guidance from our expert faculty, you'll create and assess comprehensive care strategies addressing both physical and mental health challenges in pediatric patients, mirroring real-world clinical complexities.
Your studies will be evenly divided between classroom instruction at our City Campus and practical placements in various healthcare environments. Clinical rotations may involve high-acuity settings like pediatric wards and neonatal ICUs, as well as home healthcare and specialized community clinics.
Placement opportunities span multiple regions including NHS Tayside, Fife, Forth Valley, and Highland, exposing you to diverse healthcare systems and communities. These practical experiences are designed to cultivate essential clinical competencies.
Our training includes hands-on workshops at Ninewells Hospital's Clinical Skills Centre, where you'll practice patient care scenarios with professional actors in our simulated hospital environment.
Upon graduation, you'll earn dual qualifications - an academic degree and professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, preparing you for a career as a licensed nurse.
