The MSc Midwifery (Pre-registration) program is designed to equip you for the challenging yet fulfilling field of midwifery. Develop skills to support expectant parents and newborns while working alongside healthcare professionals to facilitate safe childbirth experiences. Over three years, you'll enhance your undergraduate knowledge to achieve full midwifery qualification. Graduates meet the requirements for Nursing and Midwifery Council registration as certified midwives.
Half of your studies involve practical placements, giving you hands-on exposure to all stages of pregnancy and delivery. These include specialized rotations in neonatal intensive care, surgical settings, and family support services. Completing this program earns you valuable postgraduate qualifications, with potential NHS starting salaries ranging from £28,407 to £34,581 (2023/24 figures).
Applicants with 2:1 or higher in a relevant subject such as Nursing will be considered. Plus minimum of GCSEs with grade C or grade 4, to include English Language, Mathematics, and Biology or Combined Science. Level 2 equivalencies are accepted. However, we are unable to accept Access to HE modules in lieu of GCSEs.
Students with equivalent experience/qualifications in a field relevant to the proposed study area may be considered.
