Nestled in the Lake District, our Ambleside campus offers breathtaking access to rivers, lakes, and coastal areas. This immersive setting will fuel your passion for marine conservation studies and equip you to contribute meaningfully to global environmental protection.
Given the current shortage of UK specialists in marine and freshwater sciences, now is the ideal moment to pursue education in this vital field of aquatic biology and conservation.
This program provides comprehensive exposure to diverse aquatic ecosystems, from mountain springs to coastal regions. After establishing core knowledge of biodiversity conservation, we'll explore the factors influencing aquatic habitat dynamics. Customize your learning through elective modules while benefiting from hands-on instruction by research-focused faculty, enhancing both your practical abilities and analytical expertise. Opting for the placement track includes a year of professional experience, with past students securing positions in destinations like Cambodia, Canada, Mexico, and Montenegro. Additionally, we provide extensive conservation volunteer programs and field excursions throughout the UK and abroad.
