Earth sciences explores our planet's complex systems. This adaptable program integrates concepts from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, and Geophysics. We investigate Earth's deep and surface processes, biological mechanisms driving biodiversity and extinction, atmospheric and oceanic influences on climate, plus resource management, natural hazards, and environmental changes. Alongside a versatile General track, students can opt for a specialized Palaeobiology pathway, granting access to exclusive cross-departmental courses. The initial two years establish foundational expertise, while the third year enables focused study through self-directed projects. Field studies cultivate crucial teamwork and analytical skills.
The MSci program mirrors the BSc curriculum for its first three years, but adds a fourth year featuring specialized research projects and advanced electives for deeper subject mastery.
