Environmental challenges including pollution, ecosystem damage, invasive organisms, and global warming endanger the health and longevity of our water-based ecosystems. Addressing these concerns, the Aquatic Conservation, Ecology and Restoration MSc program provides students with a comprehensive scientific and practical foundation in modern aquatic preservation and rehabilitation efforts across various water bodies - from small ponds to vast coastal waters. The curriculum emphasizes interconnected freshwater and marine environments. Key program highlights encompass: combining aquatic ecosystem studies with water-landform interactions, watershed ecology, habitat rehabilitation and natural regeneration, community involvement, public research initiatives and effective science outreach, sediment analysis for historical environmental assessment, development of water quality monitoring systems, and simulation of aquatic ecosystem behaviors. Graduates gain thorough, analytical understanding of contemporary connections between aquatic research, environmental policies, and hands-on conservation and restoration practices.
