The MRes in Pharmaceutical Research is designed for graduates aiming for a research-focused career. This program emphasizes hands-on research, dedicating at least ten months to an original, cutting-edge project in medication safety or pharmaceutical sciences within your selected department or lab. You'll join a research team, gaining comprehensive training in academic methodologies, data interpretation, and scientific writing—essential skills for pursuing a PhD or careers in healthcare research, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or regulatory agencies.

This full-time postgraduate degree places strong emphasis on independent research. Over ten months, you'll undertake an innovative project at the forefront of medication safety or pharmaceutical science within UCL School of Pharmacy's facilities. Alongside your research, you'll complete advanced coursework in relevant subjects and participate in skill-building workshops. Through this immersive experience, you'll develop specialized expertise and transform into a skilled researcher equipped with both technical abilities and academic competencies.

Qualification Requirements

An upper second-class UK Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, the pharmaceutical or physical sciences or related fields, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard is required. The English language level for this programme is: Level 2

UCL Pre-Master's and Pre-sessional English courses are for international students who are aiming to study for a postgraduate degree at UCL. The courses will develop your academic English and academic skills required to succeed at postgraduate level. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Version - Overall score of 7.0 and a minimum of 6.5 in each component. Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Overall score of 96 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 22/30 in speaking and listening.
