The Master by Research (MRes) is a one-year postgraduate program with a strong research emphasis, offered jointly by the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics and Faculty of Life Sciences. This program prepares students for professional scientific careers or PhD studies through intensive laboratory-based training. A key feature is the six-month research project, allowing students to apply acquired skills in groundbreaking research with practical significance. The program follows a research-engaged learning model, treating both classrooms and laboratories as spaces for knowledge creation and application. Its spiral learning curriculum progressively builds and reinforces core competencies throughout the program. Assessment methods align with both the spiral curriculum approach and research-engaged learning philosophy, while also developing the professional skills required for success in scientific and academic careers.
