UCL Dutch boasts one of the most extensive Dutch library collections outside the Low Countries. The program features a yearly Writer-in-Residence initiative and frequent research seminars led by visiting scholars from the Netherlands and Flanders, maintaining strong ties with Dutch-speaking regions. Students can collaborate with other departments in the School of European Languages, Culture and Society (SELCS) and throughout UCL. This program caters to graduates passionate about Dutch language and sociolinguistics, comparative literature, Dutch literary studies, political and cultural history of the Low Countries, and translation studies. It welcomes both recent Master's graduates and working professionals at any career stage. The MPhil/PhD is designed for researchers eager to pursue interdisciplinary studies, whether they come from postgraduate academic backgrounds or seek to deepen their expertise in a specialized field.
