The UCL Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology (ICTM) serves as a premier hub for clinical trials, methodological studies, meta-analyses, and epidemiological investigations. This doctoral program is designed to cultivate and guide future experts in trial design and research methodologies. Participants are embedded in one of UCL's clinical trial units, collaborating directly with medical professionals, scientists, and research teams. ICTM places special emphasis on pioneering methodological advancements to enhance clinical trials, meta-analyses, and epidemiological research. Through partnerships with organizations worldwide, the institute ensures student research projects maintain practical significance and real-world impact. Alumni have gone on to successful careers in clinical trial centers, university research facilities, and pharmaceutical companies.

Qualification Requirements

A minimum of an upper second-class UK Bachelor’s degree and/or a Master’s degree (preferably with a merit or distinction) in a relevant discipline, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. Overall grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the subtests. Overall score of 92 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 20/30 in speaking and listening.
