The Personalized Medicine Center (PMC) focuses on creating therapies and clinical solutions tailored to an individual's unique genetic and molecular profile. By examining how diseases interact with gene sequences, expression levels, and molecular activity within the body, we are pioneering next-generation treatments and reliable diagnostics to enhance clinical decisions for various chronic and degenerative conditions. Established in 2013, the center has obtained over £24 million in competitive research grants and published more than 380 peer-reviewed papers in leading top-tier journals (as of May 2022). As a leader in personalized and precision medicine innovation, PMC has filed 14 patent applications for groundbreaking therapeutic and diagnostic developments. The center played a key role in Ulster University's recognition as one of the UK's top five universities for research strength in Allied Health Professions, with 95% of its REF2021 impact rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. Through its diverse, high-caliber research, PMC has built a worldwide network of partnerships with top academic institutions, biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies, data analytics providers, and healthcare organizations.
