SerbianCroatian is a Slavic language with approximately 20 million native speakers. This program provides comprehensive language training along with deep insights into SerbianCroatian literature, history, and culture, equipping students for diverse career opportunities across Europe. Participants will develop extensive expertise about this European region. While the curriculum emphasizes language, culture, literature, and film studies, it also covers historical, political, and contemporary issues. UCL's School of Slavonic & East European Studies (SSEES) stands as the UK's foremost academic hub for Central, Eastern, and Southeast European studies, including Russia. The SSEES Library boasts an extensive collection exceeding 400,000 resources including books, journals, and films. Students enjoy regular interactions with distinguished guests—from prime ministers and foreign ministers to renowned scholars and authors. London's status as a global metropolis with vibrant Eastern European communities offers exceptional advantages, including numerous cultural events with Eastern European themes. Includes a year abroad component.
