Our degree program in Russian and Yiddish provides exceptional opportunities to cultivate comprehensive, cross-cultural perspectives in the humanities. Students can select from an extensive array of courses covering literature, linguistic studies, historical contexts, social sciences, philosophical thought, artistic expressions, cinema, and various cultural aspects tied to these languages. Russian language instruction occurs at UCL's School of European Languages, Culture & Society (SELCS), while Yiddish studies are conducted through UCL's Hebrew & Jewish Studies department. Throughout your first, second, and final academic years, you'll enroll in language courses alongside complementary studies in associated literature, cultural studies, historical contexts, and linguistic analysis.
